Mumbai: The Maharashtra government has woken up to the need for a command centre for coordinated response to disasters like terror strikes, floods and fires. It plans to house in the Mantralaya a 'state-of-the-art' unified coordination centre (UCC) and a state emergency operation centre (SEOC) to provide help to agencies-like the fire brigade, police and municipality-which fight disasters. The UCC and the SEOC will be set up by a private agency on a build-operate-manage basis for Rs 52 crore. |
