Dumaguete City: Around 100 priests, religious and some lay faithful will participate in the disaster preparedness training of the Diocese of Dumaguete, in collaboration with Smart Communications, at the Marian Priests’ Center, Cathedral compound in Dumaguete City, on February 04.
Dumaguete Bishop Julito Cortes thanked the telecom company, through senior manager Maria Jane Paredes of the Public Affairs Group-VisMin, for the training that, he said, will greatly benefit not just the clergy or the diocese, but the entire populace.
The training will be geared more towards pre-disaster and post-disaster activities. He cited the massive flooding in Bayawan City and nearby towns in southern Negros Oriental October 6, 2013 that left a number of people dead and scores displaced. |
