Hyderabad: GVKEMRI requested its striking employees to call off their protest on July 23 Tuesday. Initiating fresh hiring, the institute said that it has managed to restore nearly 80% of the services. Full normalcy is expected in a couple of days, officials said at a press briefing on July 23 Tuesday.
The 108 emergency service was paralyzed to a great extent in the state after nearly 4,000 employees went on strike demanding better wages and regularisation of their jobs.
Protesting employees, who are drivers and paramedical staff, said that they started boycotting work from July 18 midnight. They maintained that they would continue their agitation unless their demands were met. |
