Mumbai: Considering that four-wheel ambulances find it difficult to negotiate the city\'s congested roads, the state government is toying with the idea of introducing motorbike ambulances. \r\nThe logic is that patients can be started on medical treatment within the critical golden hour by doctors or paramedics riding bikes, which can cut through heavy traffic because of their manoeuvrability. The state is in talks with three British universities (Cambridge, Glasgow and Dundee) as well as the London Ambulance Service, the largest free ambulance service in the world. |
