Phuket: Provincial authorities in Phuket convened on May 27 for a meeting to prepare an emergency response drill in case of earthquake, evacuation of residents and management of temporary shelters. Acting Sub Lt Trakul said that the exercise was conducted annually in order to improve information management and the directing and coordinating system in disaster situation. It is aimed at overcoming limits and preparing readiness of relevant staff so that they can handle the disaster situation efficiently.
This year the exercise will take place during 25-26 June with the first day dedicated to briefing and the second day to drilling practice in Si SunthornSub district, Talang District. |
