Kathmandu: The government is all set to introduce the Disaster Management Act that envisages a prime minister-led National Council for Disaster Management as the supreme body to oversee disaster related issues. \r\nA 50-page draft of the Bill received by this daily also proposes to establish Disaster Management National Secretariat for effectively handling the disaster management activities. According to the draft, the Kathmandu-based DMNS will have a gazetted special class government employee as its executive secretary. |
