	Riyadh: Saudi Arabia will appoint 100 Saudi females as the first batch of paramedics by the end of this year, according to Al-Riyadh newspaper on March 30. The new paramedics who are receiving training will be assigned to locations restricted to men. This move comes with several deaths that occurred because male paramedics could not freely enter the accident scenes such as schools for girls. 	Saudi Arabia: Jeddah Hospital Closes Emergency Room Due to MERS
	Jeddah: The Saudi Health Ministry said in a statement released on April 6 Sunday that a 70-year-old national, who died in the Red Sea port city of Jeddah, had been suffering from the chronic illness. The statement added that a second victim, who was a medic, died also in the city, where the ministry reported four new cases of the fatal illness, 2 of them among health workers. On April 08 Tuesday, the ministry said authorities at the city's King Fahd Hospital had decided to close the emergency department of the hospital to prevent the spread of the illness. It added that patients were transferred to other hospitals.

	Saudi Arabia: Saudi MERS Death Toll Rises to 67
	Saudi health authorities have announced another death in the kingdom from the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, bringing the nationwide toll to 67, the Saudi Gazette reported. The 57-year-old Saudi national had been suffering from chronic illnesses, the Health Ministry said. It also said another two Saudis had been infected by the MERS virus – one a 51-year-old and the other a 90-year-old. The latest figures bring to 179 the number of cases of MERS in Saudi Arabia since the virus first appeared in the Kingdom in September 2012.
