Philippines: Sapad Emergency Response Unit Gets Training


Tubod, Lanao del Norte: Around 72 emergency responders of the newly created Sapad Emergency Response Unit (ERU) experienced a 5-day training on Basic Life Support provided by the Department of Health Region 10 (DOH-10) in coordination with provincial local government. The 5-day training held on March 3 to 7 at the Sapad Municipal Hall, focused on Basic Life Support (BLS), standard first aid, and realistic simulation exercises. According to Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) Head Marlyn Trozo, the interior town of Sapad is prone to flooding and landslides.

Philippines: RCAT 143 to Spearhead Red Cross¡¯ Service Delivery, Disaster Response


The Philippine Red Cross has organized the Red Cross Action Team (RCAT 143) as a new response system built around a core of volunteers specializing in the different major humanitarian services to be implemented during emergency and rehabilitation/recovery period. The RCAT 143 is composed of a minimum of 30 selected individuals from at the active pool of volunteers at the chapter level coming from the different core services to mobilize for service delivery program and disaster response. The team must be able to implement at least two PRC services, such as First Aid, Welfare/Restoring Family Links (RFL), Disaster Risk Reduction and Management

Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya: Officials of SN Aboitiz Power, Magat (SNAP) Company recently donated a new ambulance to barangay Aguinaldo in Ramon, Isabela to boost their health program. Butuan City: The Agusan del Norte Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC), headed by Governor Ma. Angelica Rosedell M. Amante-Matba, successfully conducted the 5-day training on Basic Life Support, Standard First Aid and Introduction to Mass Casualty Incident Management Training Course for the Agusan del Norte Emergency Response Team (ADNERT) recently. Philippines: Abra PDRRMC Buckles Up for Disaster Preparedness


Bangued, Abra: The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Council (PDRRMC) is now preparing all available equipment and manpower to be ready for emergency response especially during the typhoon season. Governor Eustaquio PBersamin last week gave the go-signal for the repair of one ambulance and the mobile clinic for exclusive use by the council especially in times of disasters.
