	Japan: Aichi Hospital Partners with IT Firm in First for Air Ambulance Training
	Aichi Medical University Hospital has partnered with an IT firm to develop software designed to better train air ambulance crews. The software, developed by Nagoya-based Core Corp. Chubu Company, will feature footage of doctors and nurses providing emergency care aboard air ambulances, or “doctor helicopters.”\r\nIt will be filmed using smartphone cameras, with the result shared with other hospitals in Japan that use the rapid-response service.

	Saitama: An emergency drill was held here Sept. 1, which is national Disaster Prevention Day, to prepare for an anticipated large-scale earthquake.\r\nNine main local governments in the Tokyo metropolitan area joined forces for the event, which involved closing a part of the Shuto Expressway to “rescue” drivers and other people trapped there in the disaster scenario.

	Tokyo: Houses toppling over, fires blazing out of control, trains going off their rails and murky water rushing through the streets, sweeping cars away.\r\nThese are computer-generated images in two videos released by the Japanese government week to prepare its citizens for a major earthquake that could strike Tokyo or Osaka “at any time”.

	Japan: Emergency Service Assistance only a Tap Away
	A rapidly growing number of regional fire departments are introducing systems whereby people can contact emergency services online using their smartphones.\r\nThis enables people with hearing impairments and speech problems to quickly request help in an emergency, and also provides fire departments with their location. About 150 fire departments have introduced such systems, a five-fold increase from four years ago.

	Japan: Japanese Govt Gifts 4 Ambulances to Nepal
	Kathmandu: The Government of Japan on Wednesday (November 16) donated four ambulances to the Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS) amid a program held in the central office of NRCS in the capital.\r\nJapanese Ambassador to Nepal Masashi Ogawa, handing over the keys of the ambulances to NRCS Chair Sanjeev Thapa, shared that the ambulances were provided to Nepal to help render effective healthcare services to the people in rural areas.
