Mechanical CPR

Back
- by Nik Hisamuddin
Clinical evidance have shown that
  • Manual CPR is variable at best, even when performed by trained professionals.
  • Effective CPR, with minimal interruptions, improves probability of successful defibrillation
  • Effective CPR is more important than the timing of defibrillation in achieving ROSC.

In light of this, author discusses limaitations of Manual Resucitation tracing development of three geneartions of Mechanical CPR devices. Besides other author presents features of devices using different compression methods -- Sternal Compressions and Circumferential compressions - along with clinical evidance of ROSC. This would have more relevance to in-hospital care.
