Bangalore: As many as 248 ambulances will be added to the ‘108’ emergency services fleet in the State in the next few months, Health and Family Welfare Minister U T Khader said on June 19.
Khader told reporters that as many as 98 ambulances would be purchased to ensure there was 1 ambulance for a population of 1 lakh as per the 2011 census. In addition, the Centre has promised to provide 150 ambulances to the State. The new ambulances will be added to the existing fleet of 517. Besides, 100 old ambulances will soon be replaced with new ones, Khader said. |
