Singapore: All community centres and community clubs (CCs) here will each be equipped with two automated external defibrillators (AEDs) by the end of this year to be better prepared for emergencies. The People’s Association’s (PA) 1,500 staff working at the CCs have been trained to use the machines, which can save the lives of those suffering heart attacks.
The initiative is part of the nationwide Community First Responder Programme, launched by Health Minister Gan Kim Yong at Chua Chu Kang constituency’s family day on May 25. |
