17 new primary health care clinics will be added to the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) network as part of an expansion plan.By the end of this year, two new health centres at Al Karaana and Al Ghuwairy will open doors. In 2015, five other health centres along with a new building for the Umm Salal Health Centre will be opened as well, local newspapers report.
These new developments come in response to the lack of primary health care providers that the growing population of Qatar has been facing over the past year.
As part of this expansion and development move, PHCC is also expected to deliver emergency services by the end of 2014. This includes setting up urgent care treatment rooms in health centres and a helpline to address patient’s needs over the phone. |
