Johor Baru: SaveME 999, the smartphone application launched in September last year for disabled people to receive emergency service, will be extended to the public by the end of next month or early June.
Bukit Aman Logistics Department director Datuk Zulkifli Abdullah said the free smartphone application, developed by the Communication and Multimedia Ministry through the Malaysian Emergency Response, would become the only emergency channel to be used throughout the country for swift assistance.
Currently, Selangor police are using MyDistress, while Johor police are using Community Alerts (CommAlerts) mobile apps, launched in 2011 and 2012 respectively.With the nationwide launch of SaveME 999, MyDistress and CommAlerts will be discontinued. |
