Muscat: The Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulances (PACDA) has deployed its rescue vehicles and ambulances on major highways during rush hours since last month.Speaking to Muscat Daily, Ahmed Abdullah al Hosni, public relations official, PACDA said, “The step has been taken to cut down on time taken to reach accident sites during rush hours.”
Hosni said these vehicles are available on the highways from 6 to 8 am and 1 to 3 pm from Sunday to Wednesday.
According to Hosni, there are eight civil defence and ambulance centres in Muscat, two in Rustaq and Barka in South Batinah, six in Suwaiq, Al Khabourah, Saham, Sohar, Shinas and Port of Sohar in North Batinah. |
