Mumbai: Railway accident victims can expect faster treatment as Central Railway has decided to demarcate space for ambulance parking at each of its 76 stations in the Mumbai suburban division.
Activists and railway victims had criticized the railways for not making arrangements to ferry victims to nearest hospitals in the golden hour period. CR's move will enable victims to reach hospitals within minutes of being brought to the nearest railway station.
CR's chief public relations officer Atul Rane said, "We appeal to non-governmental organizations and corporates to avail of this free parking facility for ambulances at any of the stations. The ambulance will be allowed to attend to calls of accident victims or patients outside railway jurisdiction." |
