Legazpi Acquires New Fire-Truck, a Boost in Fire-Fighting and Emergencies Operation


Legazpi City: The headquarters of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in this city has acquired one unit brand new fire truck from the national headquarters seen to give a boost to the local bureau’s operations in fire fighting and emergencies.

The national government, through the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), bought the fire truck from Austria and provided for city government in response to the request of Rosal from DILG Secretary Mar Roxas last year.

 The new fire truck cost some P17.5 million, fully air conditioned and has a capacity of 1,000 gallons of water  with a 15 fire hoses extending up to 50 feet long each, rescue tools, rapid intervention and complete personnel equipment, emergency medical kit and other fire hazard tools.
