Nagpur: The Maharashtra government had sent a proposal to Nagpur collector for setting up a helipad at Government Medical College (GMC) here for treating police and armed forces personnel who get injured in encounters with Naxalites in Gadchiroli. Medical education minister Dr Vijaykumar Gavit confirmed this development on Wednesday December 18 while replying to a query by Vijay Wadettiwar, Amin Patel and others. The MLAs had asked on whether the government had mooted any proposal to construct the helipad for injured jawans and was it pending since last three years. They also inquired about whether the GMC dean had forwarded proposal of starting helicopter emergency medical services from the college's premises to the collector. In reply, there minister agreed with the members before refusing to comment further. |
