Fresh Tender Likely for 108 Ambulance Service

Thiruvananthapuram: The state health department is likely to go for a fresh tender process to operate the 108 ambulance chain service in the state.

The health department has sought a legal opinion on going for a district-wise fresh tender as the state government is now extending the ambulance chain to all districts.

At present, the ambulance chain is operated only in Thiruvananthapuram and Alappuzha, and is managed by Ziqitza Health Care with whom the contract is expiring on October 15. Already the management of Ziqitza has given notice to all its employees on discontinuing their service after October 15.
