Bangalore: The state government on August 2 Friday banned the protest of Arogya Kavacha (108 ambulance) staff who have been away from work since July 26. More than 2,500 employees of GVK EMRI are demanding a salary hike and regularization of service.
"There was a letter to GVK EMRI on July 24 without any specific concerns and called for a statewide protest. They did not provide ample time for the management to discuss or negotiate. The matter went to the government and officials from the labour department had a hearing of both sides. Following the recommendations of the additional labour commissioner to prohibit ambulance staff strike, the state has issued an order on August 2 Friday prohibiting the strike with immediate effect," said GVK EMRI.
Striking ambulance staff decided to continue the stir. |
