Kochi: The success of the floating ambulance that trails along the backwaters offering timely medical help to the islanders has prompted the district administration to introduce another one on similar lines. The ambulance will be equipped with doctors, treatment rooms, paramedical staff, pharmacy, ATMs and the like.
District Collector P I Sheik Pareeth said the new project will be undertaken in collaboration with the Cochin Shipyard. “Talks are on with the Cochin Shipyard officials. If all goes well, the islanders will soon have the services of another ‘boat ambulance’,” he said. |
