New Delhi: The Supreme Court today directed the Centre to immediately set a benchmark for ambulances, listing all mandatory facilities required in such vehicles. \r\nA Bench headed by Chief Justice TS Thakur said in the absence of standardisation, people were getting trucks and vans registered as ambulances to avail duty exemptions and were operating these as medical emergency vehicles without necessary facilities. The only thing that made these vehicles ambulances was the “red cross symbol” pasted on these, it said. |
