China: CSOS Launches the Guangdong-Hong Kong "999" Emergency Assistance Programme


Hong Kong: CSOS (Shenzhen CSOS Assistance Co.) China: $1.6m Earmarked for SW China Disaster Management


Beijing: The Ministry of Finance said on May 14 Tuesday, that it has allocated 1 billion Yuan about $161 million, for geological disaster management in southwest China's Yunnan province. The fund will be used for the management of major geological disasters in Yunnan, including the monitoringand assessment of disasters, relocation efforts and the construction of anemergency response system, according to the ministry.Starting from this

China: Urban Search and Rescue Training Center Opens


A national urban search and rescue training center for Northeast China has officially started operations in Shenyang, Liaoning Daily reported on May 15 Wednesday. It employs 172 elite soldiers and runs advanced facilities, including an all-terrain vehicle and a first-aid vehicle.Another seven national urban search and rescue training centers are under construction in other parts of China. The main purpose of the centers is to provide emergency rescue and relief training to rescuers at the scenes of disasters and accidents.

China: Chinese Fishery Patrol and Rescue Boat Arrives in S. China Sea


Beijing: A Chinese fishery patrol boat has arrived in the South China Seato protect 32 Chinese fishing vessels there. Yuzheng 311 boat arrived on May 18 Saturday. At over 4,000 tons, the well-equipped vessel is responsible for safeguarding Chinese fishing boats and emergency rescues. Some Chinese fishermen say they feel more confident with the patrol boat’s presence.
