India: Tanda Hospital to Have National Emergency Skills Centre


Kangra:  The Dr Rajendra Prasad Govt Medical College (DRPGMC) at Tanda has been selected for setting up a National Emergency Skills Centre and Rs 1 crore has been released as first instalment by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, to the hospital for this project.\r\nDRPGMC Principal Dr Anil Chauhan said on 19th   May the Institution was one of the five colleges in the entire country that had been selected for setting up such centres. India: Dial-100 Emergency Service Set to be Launched in UP in October


Lucknow: Under this project, in case of emergency, a person can communicate with the Dial 100 call centre through phone, texts or any other communication method and in turn will be provided immediate relief and help. Once the project is launched, 4,800 vehicles would be active in 75 districts of the state, of which 3,200 would be four wheelers and 1,600 two wheelers. All these vehicles would be equipped with GPS.

India: 12 Ambulances for 5 Highways


Bengaluru: The presence of a meagre two ambulances on the Bengaluru-Hosur section of National Highway 7 proved fatal for a senior citizen on Friday (20 May) night, but the situation is no different on other highways. There are only 12 ambulances in five highways touching Bengaluru.\r\nThe Bengaluru-Hosur section has two ambulances (one of which had broken down on Friday 20 May). The Bengaluru-Anantapur section of NH 7 too has only two ambulances. The Nelamangala-Hassan section has four ambulances. India: Jammu and Kashmir to get 25 Critical Care Ambulances finally


Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir, which often leads in clinching top national awards and honours in health and medical care, doesn’t have a fully functional emergency ambulance system. This situation is now going to change with the government taking a final call on buying 25 critical care ambulances (CCAs).\r\nThe urgent need for CCAs arose as the state has only four of these – two in Kashmir and two in Jammu. These were not of much use to general patients as they were kept stand-in for ministerial emergencies.

India: GIS Mapping of Disaster-Prone Spots in 14 Districts of Maharashtra to Start soon


Summary: The study will be uploaded on the websites of District Disaster Management Authority and State Disaster Management Authority.
