India: Govt Plans 1,200 Trauma Centres along Highways


New Delhi: To provide quick medical assistance to road accidents victims, the Centre is planning to set up trauma centres along national highways.\r\nThe Ministry of Road Transport and National Highways identified 1,200 places to set up trauma centres along national highways in next two to three years with the expenditure of around Rs 3000 crore. “These spots were identified based on repeated accidents occurred on national highways,” an official from the Ministry told Deccan Herald.

India: Shimla to Get 4 Ambulance Roads, Residents Want More


Shimla: Shimla residents\' long-pending demand of roads for ambulances would finally be realized with the Shimla municipal corporation (SMC) giving its go-ahead for the same.\r\nIncreasing traffic chaos in city had been delaying ambulances from reaching hospitals and was hurting, especially during casualties or in times of emergency.\r\nApproval has come for roads in Kamna Devi, Ever Sunny Ruldu Bhatta, Man Niwas to Parwati House and Lower Kuftadhar. Besides these, areas facing the brunt of traffic most include Sanjauli, Totu, Panthaghati, Vikasnagar, Malyana, Chamyana, Khalini, Patiyog and Kanlog among others.

India: Western Railway to Run Emergency Med Room at Mumbai Central from Inside a Porta Cabin


Speaking to DNA, WR divisional railway manager Shailendra Kumar said, \"The EMR will be run inside a porta cabin which will be placed on the western side of the station near the landing of an FOB. India: Chandigarh to Finally Get 108 Ambulance Service


Chndigarh: Finally, the Chandigarh health department is going to launch emergency medical response ambulance service 108 on Tuesday (January 26). The service is being provided in over 15 states and two Union Territories (UTs) for years but Chandigarh has now taken a call.\r\nThe city is already having around 10 ambulances under 102 facility. Now the health department will place six ambulances under 108 scheme at six different areas of the city. The ambulances under 102 service provide basic transport facility but 108 is an emergency response system, designed to attend patients of critical care, trauma, accident victims and others.
