India: 30 more Ambulances to be added to Present Fleet: Dy CM Goa


Navelim: Deputy Chief Minister Francis D’Souza, on Thursday (January 07), said that the state government will soon add another 30 ambulances to the present fleet to meet the shortfall in the emergency services.Speaking on the side-lines of the third edition of Aqua Fish Festival at Navelim, D’Souza said that the 30 additional ambulances will be added to the present fleet under the MPLAD Scheme.

India: V-IIT Student Develops Software for Emergency Medical Services


Pune: Soon, medical history and the contact details of an individual will just be just a scan awayPrasad Seth, final-year engineering student of the Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology, in association with general physician Shishir Joshi has developed a software entailing quick response (QR) code which when scanned will give out the medical history and contact details of an individual.\r\nThe software, called the \'Health Scan Card\', works without the internet. \"It will come in handy during cases of emergencies,\" said Seth.

India: Ambulance Service Flagged Off


Health Minister C VijayaBaskar on Thursday (January 07), flagged off the 108 ambulance sanctioned to Mathur in the district. He said the ambulance would cater to the emergency health care needs of residents of Mathur, Kumaramangalam and Mandaiyur and would be parked at Mathur.

India: CM Inaugurates New Facilities


Other new facilities declared open include 23-bed facility each for men and women patients. Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, through video conferencing from Chennai, declared open new facilities including a trauma care centre at the Thanjavur Medical College Hospital here on Monday (January 11). The Chief Minister also declared open Amma Amudham groceries outlet near the Punnainallur Mariamman temple bye pass under the aegis of the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation.

India: Emergency Operation System in Andhra Pradesh Soon


Vizianagaram: The state will soon have a state emergency operation system that will forecast and warn officials and people 5 days ahead of cyclones, Principal Secretary (Disaster Management) J C Sarma has said.\r\nMr Sarma, Collector MM Nayak, and World Bank and National Disaster Management officials, Jain and Saurab Dani, inspected a photo exhibition on damage caused by Cyclone Hudhud, exhibits of Red Cross, and the newly built multi-purpose cyclone shelter at Barripeta village in Poosapatirega, the coastal mandal, on Wednesday (January 20).
