India: 108 Helpline Mulls Measures to Upgrade Medical Facilities, to add 28 Ambulances


Dehradun: To promote voluntary blood donation among the youth, 108 GVK, a health helpline, is mulling to hold a series of blood donation camps across the city in the coming days.\r\nBesides, the helpline will also add 28 new ambulances to its existing fleet of which, 10 will be deployed for inter-hospital coordination. Further, to save the crucial Golden Hour, the organization has come up with a plan whereby a patient can be admitted at the nearest hospital within 15 minutes of his/her entering the ambulance.

India: Now, 24X7 Medicare at Jodhpur Airport


Jodhpur: Passengers at the Jodhpur Civil Airport no more have to worry about medical facilities as a team of doctors and nurses will be available 24X7 at the medical inspection centre set up at the airport to attend to any emergency or immediate medical attention.\r\nJodhpur MP Gajendra Singh Shekhawat inaugurated this service at the airport on Sunday(August 09). India: Three-day Workshop on First Aid Concludes at University of Kashmir


Srinagar: A 3-day workshop on ‘First Aid and First Medical Responders’ concluded at the University of Kashmir on Saturday(August 08). KU Vice-Chancellor, Prof Khurshid Iqbal Andrabi, presided over the valedictory function. He called for organising more such skill development programmes to equip student volunteers with the essentials of First Aid.\r\nThe training programme was organised by the varsity’s Department of Law in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society, J&K Chapter.

India: Helping Accident Victims May Soon be Free of Legal Hassles


New Delhi: Helping strangers injured in accidents won\'t get you entangled in messy legal cases as the government is likely to introduce the Good Samaritan provision in the upcoming Road Safety Act.The move comes after Narendra Modi stressed on road safety and helping accident victims during his recent \'Mann Ki Baat\' radio talk. The ministry of road transport and highways has already drafted the guidelines for bystanders helping accident victims.\r\nThe move to bring these guidelines as part of the upcoming road safety bill would ensure a legal framework for protection of Good Samaritans who mostly end up facing harassment and intimidation
