India: First Aid Appliances in Factories


The Government of Tamilnadu have had under consideration the desirability of maintaining appliances for first aid at factories, with a view to minor injuries receiving prompt treatment. The Surgeon-General was asked to have a leaflet prepared, containing concise but clear directions as to the maintenance and use of antiseptic dressings for application immediately upon the occurrence of an injury. The Board of Revenue also recommended that all factory owners might be advised to keep small ambulance chest. India: Now, Dial 102 for Raksha Ambulance in Ernakulam


Kochi: Scouting for medical help in case of an emergency will become more hassle-free in Ernakulam from July26.Thanks to a novel initiative of the district administration, one can now hire an ambulance by dialling the toll-free number 102. Chennai: Strategic deployment of manpower and vehicles coupled with a sustained campaign on road safety in ‘Black Spots’ has helped Tamil Nadu reduce fatalities in accidents on its highways. India: Portable Inflatable Emergency Lights to be used for Rescue, Relief


Dehradun: In what could be termed as a major boost to search and rescue capabilities of agencies concerned in Uttarakhand, the disaster management department is planning to procure high-power portable inflatable emergency lights to be positioned in the districts.\r\nAccording to the plan, two inflatable emergency lights will be given to each tehsil, block and police station in the whole state. In case of a power failure during disasters, which generally is the case, these lights are going to aid in rescue and relief efforts, especially during the night.

India: Centre Agrees to Two AIIMS Facilities in Jammu, Kashmir


Jammu and Kashmir will get two AIIMS-like facilities instead of one.
