India: Government Order for Emergency Care isnot addressedto Private Hospitals


Chennai: Last July, the State health department issued a government order under which guidelines and examination proforma for medico-legal cases and victims of sexual violence were forwarded for adherence.The order clearly states that “sexual assault survivors and victims cannot be denied treatment in a hospital, whether private or Government. It is thus a mandatory obligation…The Secretary has requested to adopt the guidelines in all hospitals in the State.” The order has also only been sent out to heads of government institutions and projects. India: CMCH Gets Emergency Care Equipment Akin to Those Used by NASA


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) has procured emergency care equipment that is similar to those used by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the U.S. agency that manages the space programme. According to Hospital Dean A. Edwin Joe, the kit, to be used on patients in a critical condition, was made by an equipment manufacturer in Sweden who supplies to the NASA. It will determine vital parameters such as the levels of haemoglobin, white blood cells, glucose and urine micro albumin levels, within just seven minutes by testing blood samples. India: Odisha Tied-up with AIIMS, Bhubaneswar to Impart Training on Emergency, Trauma Care Services


Bhubaneswar: The State government has tied up with All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar to impart training on emergency and trauma care services for reducing accident-related casualties.
