India: Mobile Medical Units for Tiruvannamalai Festival


Chennai: The state health department proposes to deploy 10 mobile medical units besides ensuring at least 15 ambulances are available at hand to cope up with emergencies during the Karthigai Mahadepam festival at the renowned Sri Arunachaleshwarar temple in neighboring Tiruvannamalai. Ten mobile units would be stationed at various vantage points in the town and also on the Girivalam path, while the 15 ambulances will be kept ready for use in case of emergency.

India: Where Ambulances Cannot Reach, Kishan Boss Comes to the Rescue of the Patients


One of the major issues in Chandni Chowk is the narrow lanes due to which ambulances cannot reach in time. Now, think what would be the situation if the patient is serious and needs emergency treatment.In 2009, Kishan Avtar Jindal who lives in Gali Mata Vali, Chandni Chowk decided to provide free first-aid to such patients after he lost one of his relatives because of lack of first-aid and ambulance delay. Popularly known as ‘Kishan Boss’ in his area, he has dedicated his life to helping others.

Dharmshala: Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on 5th December flagged off 37 ambulances under ambitious Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram (JSSK) wherein free transport facilities would be provided to the expectant mothers, women after delivery and the sick children up to one year of age.

India: Tea Cup to Create Awareness about Laws, First Aid


Jaipur: A Jaipur-based NGO has come out with an innovative idea to spread knowledge on laws and first aid techniques.Legalmitra, which works for policy advocacy and legal awareness, has distributed over a lakh disposable printed tea cups with messages about various Indian laws and first aid techniques to over 250 thadis (roadside tea stalls) in Rajasthan\'s six districts.

India: Vadodara Girl to Receive Bravery Award for Saving 3 Children


Vadodara: Bringing laurels to her city and school, a Class IX student will receive the President’s National Bravery Award 2014 on Republic Day at New Delhi.  13-year-old Zeal Marathe, student of a private school in Karelibag locality here, will receive the President’s National Bravery Award for saving lives of 3 of her school friends who were injured in an accident while they had gone on a picnic.
