India: Patna Traffic Police Gets First Aid Box to Attend Victims


Patna:  In a noble step, the Patna police have armed traffic posts at important junctures of Bihar\'s capital with first aid boxes to attend to road accident victims on the spot.\r\nTo start with first aid boxes have been given at five traffic posts and at many mobile regulation teams, Superintendent of Police, Traffic, Prantosh Kumar Das told PTI on October 27 Monday.\r\nThe five posts are -- Boring road roundabout, Tapasya complex, 46 number pillar, Hartali More and Saguna More, Das said.

India: Accident Emergency: Toll-free No. Launched


Thiruvananthapuram: State Police have launched a toll-free number for accident emergency help. The move followed a public request on the Facebook page of Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala. An official statement said here that the public can request for police help on the toll-free number 1099. Initially, the facility will be available in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi and would be extended state-wide later. The Minister had earlier announced that accident rescue workers could collect the cost incurred from the respective Circle Inspectors. India: Schools Told to Make Emergency Medical Plan


New Delhi: The government is set to make it mandatory for all the states to bring in place an emergency medical plan for all the schools to deal with “any untoward incident”.\r\nA decision has been taken by an empowered committee for mid-day meal scheme of the Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry in this regard. The states will soon be asked to formulate emergency medical plan for school by the end of this year. The development of an emergency medical plan for schools would entail creation of facility to provide immediate medical assistance to children in case of any emergency.\r\n \r\n \r\n \r\n

India: Government of India Set for Ambulance Protocol


In a significant move that may help cut down incidents of fatal accidents in India, ministry of health and ministry of road transport and highways are all set to come out with ambulance protocols. The ministries are also in the process of obtaining black spot data from the states based on which locations of new trauma centres shall be decided.
