India: A New Trauma Care Centre on Pune-Mumbai E-way to Become Functional by July


Here is some good news for motorists using the Mumbai-Pune Exressway. If things go per the plan, a trauma care centre built by the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRDC) will become operational at Ozarde village near Talegaon on E-way by July. After the centre becomes operational, accident victims on the Expressway could get faster access to medical aid and an option to be air-lifted to the nearest hospital.  The trauma care centre will also provide an air-ambulance or helicopter service to shift accident victims to nearest hospital. India: Mock Drill at Mangalore Airport


Mangalore: A mock drill was carried out at the Mangalore airport to check the preparedness and efficiency of the authorities concerned to deal with a major disaster situation. A full scale emergency mock exercise was carried out in the airport premises last evening by putting on fire a miniature-model of an aircraft, official sources said. A temporary hospital was set up in the airport premises. The "victims of the drill" were picked up by the hospital teams. Chief Fire and Safety Officer H S Varada Rajan explained that as there was a lack of co-ordination at the time of plane crash in May 2010, they were leaving no loopholes.

India: 24 Hours Emergency Medical Service Begins at Dist. Hospital


Ujjain: As per the directives issued by State Government, 24 hours emergency medical service was kicked off at district hospital from Thursday. Patients will have benefits of this service as the service remained available only for 19 hours earlier. Emergency medical service is made available for patients for 24 hours at district hospital from May 1 on the directives of State government. Outdoor will remain open for 24 hours and medical treatment will be provided to patients in emergency. The service had been in effect in district hospitals across the State since 1992. India: Uttarakhand Govt Set-up Medical Facilities at Kedarnath


Dehradun: The Uttarakhand government has made elaborate medical arrangements for pilgrims visiting the Kedarnath shrine, which reopened on May 04 Sunday. During last year's flash floods, the state-owned dispensary was severely damaged, because of which the health department decided to set up a make-shift medical camp. "At Sonprayag, the starting point of the yatra, we are conducting complete check-ups of the pilgrims before allowing them to go ahead," said health department director general GS Joshi. India: Central Railway Seek Better Ambulances


India   Mumbai : The Central Railway (CR) which is being criticised for the delay in providing first aid treatment for the accident victims have asked for better ambulance services. Sunil Kumar Sood said, “In any given situation the Medical Relief Van is like to take 2 hours to reach the accident spot.
