India: Fresh Tender Likely for 108 Ambulance Service


Thiruvananthapuram: The state health department is likely to go for a fresh tender process to operate the 108 ambulance chain service in the state. The health department has sought a legal opinion on going for a district-wise fresh tender as the state government is now extending the ambulance chain to all districts. At present, the ambulance chain is operated only in Thiruvananthapuram and Alappuzha, and is managed by Ziqitza Health Care with whom the contract is expiring on October 15. Already the management of Ziqitza has given notice to all its employees on discontinuing their service after October 15.

Mumbai: RTO has already fixed rates for 18 Maharashtra regions, govt tells court. Ill health of a family member not only brings stress to relatives but even adds strain on their finances. In such a scenario, people can expect some respite as there will be a uniform tariff rate for ambulances across the state. The patients’ relatives, who have to haggle with ambulance operators over the charges, will soon heave a huge sigh of relief. The Bombay high court (HC) has directed the state regional transport officers (RTOs) to fix tariffs for ambulances in the state.

India: More 108 Units in Chennai to Get Cardiac Care Equipment


Chennai: Soon, many more 108 ambulances will be equipped with cardiac-care support mechanism. The State government proposes to install 200 automated external defibrillators (AED) and multi-para monitors in ambulances across the State. Currently, 57 ambulances in the State have AEDs and monitors. AEDs trigger artificial shocks when the heart of a cardiac emergency patient stops enroute a medical facility. “The multi-para monitor gives us the pulse rate, blood pressure and oxygen saturation level in the blood. Pune: A day after dna reported how the private ambulance driver, who after taking the highway accident victim to a hospital, had demanded a BlackBerry from her accompanying friends as his service charges before allowing the patient to alight, Indira Group of Institutes chairperson Tarita Shankar said that the college would start a 24X7 ambulance service for students. “I was shocked at how inhuman people can be. India: Royapettah Govt. Hospital to Get Zero-Delay Trauma Ward


Chennai: The Government Royapettah Hospital (GRH) will soon have a zero-delay ward to treat trauma victims. This will bring the hospital on a par with the three tertiary-care centers in the city. At present, doctors at the hospital refer seriously injured trauma-care patients to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital.GRH superintendent N.
