Dhaka: Encroachers have occupied the road and walkway in front of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) with support from a few of the medical’s employees and negligence of authorities, causing added suffering to the inbound patients. Due to such encroachments, patients who come for emergency treatment often face problems as at most times there is not enough space for the ambulance to reach the emergency gates or the stretchers to be brought out in time. Bangladesh: Enam Medical to Buy Air Ambulances as it Moves to Modernise Services


Enam Medical College and Hospital is going to buy 4 air ambulances in order to expand its modern medical services in the country. Purchasing of the air ambulances and making them fully operational will cost about Tk 600 million. Bangladesh: Salimullah Medical College Closes for Indefinite Period


Dhaka: Following a 2-day stand-off between the students and staff of Sir Salimullah Medical College Mitford Hospital, the college in the capital was declared closed on December 11 for an indefinite period. The institution will not open “until the situation becomes normal”, Principal Prof Dilip Kumar Dhar told journalists. He also asked all the residential students to leave the campus by 7:00am December 12.

Bangladesh: Mymensingh Medical College Interns Call off Strike


Intern doctors of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, who went on an indefinite strike on December 23 Monday night, called off the strike on December 24 Tuesday after a discussion with MMCH authorities and leaders of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA). The interns went on a strike following an incident of alleged misbehaviour with 2 intern doctors at CCU around 9pm on December 23 Monday night. They suspended their activities including emergency services at the hospital. They also ransacked the room of the MMCH director.
