United Arab Emirates: Dubai Ambulance Teaches Residents How to Perform CPR


Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (Dewa) has hosted, in its Head Office in Zabeel East, a flash mob performance organised by the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS) to demonstrate cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) procedure.\r\nThe move supports Dewa\'s strategy to establish the foundations of health and safety in society, and its efforts to raise awareness among its staff and customers of a lifesaving procedure that is done when someone\'s breathing or heartbeat has stopped.Dewa staff and customers practiced CPR on training dummies provided by DCAS, with the help of paramedics and emergency personnel.

United Arab Emirates: 619 Police Patrols, 830 Paramedics on Duty


Dubai: The mother of all weekends is here and Dubai is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the Eid Al Fitr festivities are a smooth sail.\r\nDubai Corporation for Ambulance Service CEO Khalifa Hassan Al Darrai said Dubai Mall alone will have 4 ambulances and 3 first aid stations on standby. He said: “DCAS will deploy 830 paramedics, 3 ambulance buses and 3 trucks of medical supplies during Eid. Seventy five of our ambulances will be on duty 24 hours,” he said.

United Arab Emirates: Dubai Civil Defence conducts 390 fire drills in first half of 2015


Dubai: There was 390 fire drills held in Dubai during the first half of 2015, which benefited 208,820 people.\r\nThe drills were carried out by the 12 Civil Defence stations in Dubai.The 390 drills involved 3,263 firemen, 947 members of the police, and 1,005 Dubai Ambulances employees.The average response time was 7.5 minutes, and the average duration of the drills was 24.9 minutes and customer satisfaction was 99.1 per cent.The drills were held at 65 educational facilities, 87 hotels and furnished apartments, 91 government entities, 60 companies, 31 towers, 15 public buildings, 10 hospitals, 14 banks, and 10 shopping malls, in addition to ot

United Arab Emirates: Abu Dhabi to get Certified Lifeguards


Abu Dhabi:Lifeguards who meet the certification requirements of the QCC through practical assessments will receive the certificate of conformity. Abu Dhabi has developed a certification scheme for lifeguards to enhance pool rescue and first aid services in the emirate. The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (QCC) developed the scheme in collaboration with public and private sector stakeholders in the leisure industry.\r\nLifeguards who meet the certification requirements of the QCC through practical assessments will receive the certificate of conformity that indicates their competence and credentials.

United Arab Emirates: MoH Gears Up to Treat Heatstroke Patients


Anticipating high temperatures during the Haj season, the Ministry of Health has made arrangements to install more equipment to treat heatstroke patients among pilgrims, Health Ministry spokesman Khaled Al-Mirghalani said following a meeting of the Haj preparatory committee here on Monday(August 03).He said there are 4 hospitals each in Arafat and Mina, which will treat heatstroke patients.\r\nThe ministry recruits more than 22,000 people from various medical, technical, administrative categories for the Haj season every year.
