United Arab Emirates: Hala Azam Elected as Chairperson of AACO Emergency Response Planning Taskforce


Gulf Air’s Manager of Emergency Response Planning and Security, Mrs. Hala Azam has been elected, for a 3 year term, to the position of Chairperson of the Arab Air Carriers Organization’s (AACO) first Emergency Response Planning Taskforce (ERPTF).  Established to enhance the level of Emergency Response Management capabilities in the region, the newly-formed team will work closely with IATA, the airline’s world-wide trade association, to help establish a global framework of emergency best practices.

United Arab Emirates: AHS Commences 2013 Continuing Education Program for over 400 Nurses in Abu Dhabi


Abu Dhabi: The School Health Services department of the Ambulatory Healthcare Services (AHS) in partnership with Abu Dhabi Education Council has commenced the Continuing Education Program (CEP) December 2013 for more than 400 nurses in Abu Dhabi public schools. Running from 15 - 19 December, the program has been accredited for 28.25 CME (Continuous Medical Education) by the Health Authority-Abu Dhabi (HAAD). United Arab Emirates: Government Bodies Perform Mock Drill


Dubai: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) and Dubai Police (DP) successfully performed a mock drill of a plane falling over power grid in Dubai. This drill, which was initiated by Dewa with the participation from Dubai Police, Civil Defence, Dubai Ambulance, and Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) aimed to raise readiness to face and deal with contingencies and crises that might occur. United Arab Emirates: Khalifa Orders Academy - Aim to Develop Cadre in Unified Intergraded Response


Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in his capacity as Ruler of Abu Dhabi, has issued Law No. 7 for 2013 with respect to establishing Rabdan Academy. It will be based in Abu Dhabi but may establish branches or offices inside or outside the UAE. The academy aims at being a distinguished national centre for training and developing cadres in such fields as safety, security, defence, emergency preparedness and crisis management with a view to coming with a unified and integrated response for efficiently dealing with all types of threats, hazards, incidents and crises.

United Arab Emirates: Dubai Holds Successful Evacuation Drill


Dubai: The Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company, du, recently conducted an evacuation drill with the participation of 500 employees to evaluate company’s Emergency Contingency Plan.
