Thailand: Medical Response Training Held to Prepare for Major Incidents


The Thai Medical Response to Major incident simulation training (ThaiSim) model has been developed to enhance hospitals’ readiness to deal with emergencies.\r\n“ThaiSim can be applied to all hospitals and situations,” National Institute for Emergency Medicine (NIEM) secretary-general Atchariya Pangma said on Thursday (8 June). He said hospitals in Lampang province had applied ThaiSim to deal with road accidents. In the South, ThaiSim has been used to plan actions in incidents related to drilling platforms.

Thailand: Deputy PM launches Phuket park officers’ tourist rescue training


Phuket: Deputy Prime Minister Gen Thanasak Patimapragorn arrived in Phuket on 28 June to officially open tourist-rescue training for officers stationed at Sirinath National Park.\r\nCalled “Tourists Safety Training 2017”, the project aims to equip national park officers with the skills to carry out emergency rescues on land and in the water.

Thailand: Transport Ministry Holds Maritime Emergency Drill off Samui Island


Surat Thani: The Ministry of Transport has held a rescue drill for boats off Samui Island, simulating a fire aboard a sea vessel to trial evacuation of passengers. The Ministry of Transport’s Marine Department has worked jointly with Surat Thani provincial officials and other public and private agencies to stage the official 2017 maritime rescue drill off Samui Island.\r\nThis year’s training involved a fire on a ferry boat and included the use of helicopters, speed boats and jet skis, all with the purpose of helping to evacuate passengers from the ferry.

Thailand: Yield way to ambulances or be fined


Bangkok: Police have fined a Bangkok pickup driver Bt 500 for failing to make way for an ambulance last month, confirming that the same fate awaits any motorist who doesn\'t yield the right of way to emergency vehicles.\r\nThe action had caused a stir after video of the incident circulated on social media. The driver has apologised and paid the fine, but lost his job when the incident became public.

Emergency Medicine Group Khon Kaen Hospital and Mr Kittawat Maitree, A-Live application developer, talked about the limitations of emergency medical systems in Thailand and the introduction of AOC innovations to enhance communication capabilities in the ambulatory system.
