United Arab Emirates: All Dubai Buildings Will Get Geo-address Codes, Will Help Incase of Emergency


Each building in Dubai is slated to soon receive its geo-address code number which will help find locations easier and faster through a geo-address navigation system launched by the Dubai Municipality. The GIS Department of the municipality has completed issuing a special location number and barcode to 123,000 buildings in Dubai, Director of the Department Abdul Hakim Malik told Khaleej Times on July 09 Monday. “This means we have got the accurate location of the entrances of all these buildings in Dubai, including those in the free zones and in Hatta. United Arab Emirates: MERS May Sicken Faster than SARS, but Isn't Yet Health Emergency


The new respiratory virus that emerged in the Middle East last year appears to make people sicker faster than SARS, but doesn't seem to spread as easily, according to the latest detailed look at about four dozen cases in Saudi Arabia. Since last September, the World Health Organization has confirmed 90 cases of MERS, the Middle East respiratory syndrome, including 45 deaths. Most cases have been in Saudi Arabia, but the mysterious virus has also been identified in countries including Jordan, Qatar, Britain, France, Germany, Italy and Tunisia. United Arab Emirates: Zain Holds Ramadan Iftar with Emergency Medical Services Staff as Appreciation of Effort


Zain, the leading telecommunications company in Kuwait, organized a Ramadan Iftar for Mubarak Hospital's Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to share the blessings of the holy Month of Ramadan with their staff in recognition of the tremendous efforts they are exerting during the Holy Month. United Arab Emirates: Rashid Hospital adds 160 beds to Trauma Centre


Dubai: Expansion plans to increase the capacity of the Trauma Centre at Rashid Hospital are under way, said a senior official from the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) on August 8 Thursday. According to the DHA, the Centre is one of the most reputable emergency medical centres in the Gulf region. It handles trauma and poly trauma cases of patients in road accidents, fall and injuries, among others. The centre also works with the UAE disaster management committee. United Arab Emirates: Emergency Service in all Dubai Healthcare Centres Soon


Dubai: Emergency services at all healthcare centres in Dubai, and not just major hospitals, will be a reality shortly, according to a senior official from the Dubai Heath Authority (DHA). With ambitious plans to make the emirate a medical hub in the region, Engineer Eisa Al Maidour, Director-General of the DHA, said that emergency services at healthcare centres are the first of its kind in the region. He said emergency services used to be provided only at three major hospitals, namely Rashid, Dubai and Latifa Hospitals. Now, emergency services will soon be available to the public at healthcare centres.
