Philippines: Sea Ambulance Bought


Cebu: Capitol will buy 2 sea ambulances for patients from the islands of Bantayan and Camotes. Dr Rene Catan, provincial health officer, said each sea ambulance will cost P3.5 million. One will bring patients from Bantayan Island to Bogo City Provincial Hospital. The other will bring patients from Camotes Island to the Danao City Provincial Hospital.

Philippines: VRP Medical Center now a World Class Hospital


Victor R Potenciano Medical Center or simply VRP Medical Center is now a world class medical institution with its resurgence. The expansion and improvement of the hospital is almost complete. Some of these notable improvements include the inauguration of the Nuclear Medicine Department, renovation of the Emergency Rooms, which houses additional adult and pedia beds, isolation rooms, ER laboratory and Trauma room. It also opened recently its Integrative Medicine Department which effectively combines the healing powers of both traditional and new medicine.

Philippines: Japan Provides 76 Emergency Vehicles to LGUs in Luzon, Mindanao


The Japanese government has provided 76 units of emergency vehicles to 35 local government units (LGUs) in Luzon and Mindanao amounting to $998,357 to improve the emergency services response of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).President Rodrigo RoaDuterte witnesses the blessing of the 17 emergency vehicles turned over by the Government of Japan during a ceremony at the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) Covered Court in Davao City on March 23, 2018.

Philippines: MMDA to Deploy around 2,000 Personnel for Oplan MASS


Manila: The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will reactivate starting March 28 (Wednesday) the Oplan Metro AlalaySemana Santa (Oplan MASS) with the deployment of almost 2,000 personnel to ensure the safety of motorists and commuters during this week’s Holy Week break.Jojo Garcia, MMDA acting general manager, said the agency will deploy a total of 1,854 work force, composed of traffic enforcers, roadside-clearing group, anti-jaywalking, road-safety and towing personnel, among others, on major thoroughfares in the metropolis.

Philippines: National Emergency Operations Center Opens in Clark


Pampanga: The world’s first national emergency operations center (NEOC) was formally launched on Wednesday (4 April) at the Clark Freeport with the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF). The launching was attended by PDRF key officials and government executives. PDRF is a network of business conglomerates whose goal is to assist in disaster management and response. Clark Development President Noel Manankil said the NEOC is a self-sufficient operations hub geared towards training for disaster preparedness and the coordination of relief and response during major disasters.
