Qatar: QRC Organises Medical Course for Volunteers to Mark First Aid Day


Doha: In celebration of the World First Aid Day on September 13, Qatar Red Crescent (QRC) organised a first aid training course for a group of its volunteers of both sexes and varied ages.\r\nHeld at QRC Medical Affairs premises and attended by 15 trainees, the ‘First Aid & Road Safety’ course involved an intensive all-day training program, from 9 am to 5pm — a total of eight training hours, including a break for lunch and Dhuhr prayer.\r\nThe course was instructed by an experienced and proficient group of medical trainers, including highly qualified and internationally certified physicians, nurse school faculty members,

Qatar: All-woman Ambulance Service Likely


Doha: An all-female ambulance service could soon be a reality in Qatar where there are frequent requests for it.\r\nA trainer in Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) Ambulance Department says several women are being trained for the service.\r\nAhmed Nafiz Assobashi, however, gave no time-frame for the introduction of the service, in an interview published by local Arabic daily Al Watan September 14.

Qatar: HGH Enhances its Trauma Services with New State-of-the-Art Equipment

Qatar: PM Launches Emergency Call Service (Aunek)


Doha: Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani launched the Emergency Call Service (Aunek) presented by the Technical Affairs of National Command Centre (NCC) at the Ministry of Interior. The service aims to provide assistance to the elderly, people with special needs and those with chronic diseases in emergency situations through the use of a special device equipped with high-tech features. Through the service people who cannot use the emergency contact number (999) can use the device and data can be identified with location by the use of Najm service connected with NCC.
