Saudi Arabia: 5 Emergency Medical Centers to be set Up on Riyadh-Rayen-Bisha Road


Riyadh: In the wake of rising road accidents, 5 emergency medical centers will be set up on the Riyadh-Rayen-Bisha Road, Riyadh Gov. Prince Faisal Bin Bandar announced here on Saturday (17 June).\r\nThe agreement was signed at Al-Hakam Palace in Riyadh between President of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Qassim, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Shakreen Endowments Sheikh Malhi bin Salama bin Saeedan in the presence of Prince Faisal.

Saudi Arabia: Hospital Opened to Serve Grand Mosque Visitors


Makkah: On behalf of Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, his deputy Prince Abdullah Al-Saud recently opened a 50-bed emergency hospital in the presence of Health Minister Tawfiq Al-Rabiah. The hospital is equipped with the latest medical devices, and has a 10-bed intensive care unit, Al-Rabiah said.\r\nA Ministry of Health official said the hospital comes within the framework of King Salman’s vision to offer the best services to pilgrims.

Saudi Arabia: 81,000 Accident Victims Refuse First-Aid Services


Jeddah: More than 81,000 accident victims refused first-aid services offered by the Saudi Red Crescent Authority last year, a senior SRCA official said. “Most of them thought they are safe and healthy without realizing the complications caused by the accident  and its impact on their body and brain,\" he told Al-Watan Arabic daily.\r\nDuring the last Hijrah year the authority provided first-aid services to more than 439,000 accident cases, 7 percent more than the previous year (406,000).

Saudi Arabia: 29,000 Medical Practitioners to Serve Hajj Pilgrims this Year


Riyadh: The Health Ministry has deployed 29,000 medics and paramedics to serve local and foreign Hajj pilgrims this year.\r\nThe health of arriving pilgrims will be monitored in accordance with the standards of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Atlanta-based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Singapore: MHA to Introduce More Measures to Enhance Road Safety


SINGAPORE: Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean touched on several priorities for his ministry for the year, namely crime, drugs and road safety.He told the House that Singapore's road fatality rate has come down in recent years.However, recent incidents underscore the need to improve road behaviour and eliminate reckless driving habits that put road users at risk.The ministry will invest more resources and mount a concerted effort to improve road safety through education, engagement and enforcement, and will focus its education efforts on vulnerable road users such as motorcyclists, children and elderly pedestrians.Other plans include engagin
