Philippines: DILG Opens 15 Emergency Hotlines in Cebu


Manali: Department of Interior and Local Government has officially opened 15 emergency hotline 911 operations in Cebu City on Monday (August 29).\r\n“We have launched 15 operators in Cebu particularly in Region 7 last Monday at 7 a.m. as part of the nationwide system hotline engagement, they are now providing assistance to our Cebuanos,” Dir. Edgar Allan B. Tabell, Executive Director of PATROL 117 Commission said in an interview. Tabell stressed that they have drafted an executive order to be submitted to the Office of the President wherein proposals for the enhancement of the hotline 911 was included.

Philippines: Disaster Management Pushes for Law vs 911 Prank Callers


Davao City: The Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRMC) is pushing for an ordinance that penalizes prank callers to the emergency hotline 911. This developed as there has been a rise in the number of pranksters calling 911. With a local law like this, prank calls will be discouraged.

Laurel Avenue in Davao City.\r\nVarious government agencies, private companies and schools in Davao City heeded the #Pagyanig challenge on Wednesday (September 28), and joined in the third quarter of the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill in a bid to heighten the level of preparedness and capacity of citizens in situations of disaster.

Philippines: Quezon City Activates 24/7 Emergency Hotline


The Quezon City government has activated its own emergency hotline to enable residents to immediately seek help for any emergencies. Residents, visitors and those transiting Quezon City can dial 122 and their call will be directed to the city’s Emergency Operations Center.\r\nThe hotline is open 24/7. Duty officers from various law enforcement and frontline service units such as the Quezon City Police District, Bureau of Fire Protection, QC.

Philippines: SP Pushes for Strict Implementation of Ambulance Use Policy


Lingayen, Pangasinan: The Sangguniang Panlalawigan here urged all private hospitals and local government units (LGU) operating ambulances to strictly implement the national policy on ambulance use and services of the Department of Health (DOH).\r\nBoard Member Jeremy Agerico Rosario, author of the resolution, said relevant to the recent road accidents involving ambulances in Pangasinan, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan strongly urges all medical care providers to strictly implement the existing administrative order of DOH regarding the National Policy on Ambulance Use and Services issued on January 7, 2010.
