Pakistan: 80 Ambulances Donated by China Distributed Among Provinces


Karachi: Federal Minister of State for National Health Services Saira Afzal Tarar on Friday (18 March) said poor health indicators were shameful for all and stressed that there was a need for coordinated efforts to improve the overall healthcare situation in the country.She said this at a programme held to distribute Chinese-donated ambulances among the provinces at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).\r\nThe Chinese government donated 80 modern life-saving ambulances to Pakistan, of which 20 each were given to Punjab and Sindh, 10 to Islamabad, 8 each to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, five each to Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gi

Pakistan: New Ambulances to Rescue 1122 Bahawalpur


Bahawalpur: Rescue 1122 Bahawalpur Region has been provided with 9 more ambulances by the government of Punjab to improve performance. It has been provided with 200 modern ambulances throughout the Punjab. Divisional Emergency Officer Malik Iqbal expressed these thoughts. He said that new ambulances meet the international standards having modern equipment as compared to the old ones.\r\nHe said that with the inclusion of these new ambulances, Rescue 1122’s performance will be improved.

Pakistan: PIMS to get New Emergency Ward


Islamabad:  A new emergency ward and a filter clinic of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) would be completed by the end of April 2016. A spokesman of PIMS told that the new emergency of the hospital is 90 percent complete and the ward could be inaugurated by the end of this month.\r\nCapital Administration and Development Division (CADD) State Minister Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry had directed the construction of new emergency and reopening of filter clinic after he evaluated the existing emergency centre, which is not spacious enough to cater to the needs of growing number of patients.

Pakistan: 228 Beds Provided at 40 Heat Stroke Emergency Centres


Karachi: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation has given 228 beds in 40 emergency medical centres established by the KMC and the DMCs in different areas of the city to provide immediate first aid and medical treatment to the heat stroke patients.\r\nAccording to a press release issued on Friday (29 April), more beds will be arranged for patients and necessary facilities, including providing medicines and equipment along with availability of doctors and paramedics, have been ensured in these centres
