Pakistan: Seven First Aid Centres Functioning on National Highways, Motorways


Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Shaikh Aftab Ahmad on September 7 informed the National Assembly that presently 7 first aid centres are functional on national highways and motorways network.\r\nIn question hour, he said, first aid centres were operational at Mardan, Chakri, Sukheki, Sial, Bhera, Kallar Kahar and Nooriabad. He said that availability of emergency and first aid medical services on highway, motorways are essential.

Pakistan: 430 Rescuers Pass Emergency Management Training


Lahore: The 22nd passing out ceremony of 430 rescuers from different tehsils of Punjab was held at Emergency Services Academy here on September 08. Punjab Higher Education Commission chairman was the chief guest while NAVTTC Islamabad director general and deputy secretary Home, Punjab were the guests of honour.\r\nThe ceremony was attended by the Director General Punjab Emergency Service, Registrar Emergency Services Academy and large number of rescuers, their parents and family friends. Pakistan: Sindh Government Annuls Disaster Management Department


Karachi: The government of Sindh has abolished recently established Disaster Management Department\' under Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC). The Staff working with newly established Disaster Management Department is accommodated to Municipal Service of KMC. The order has been sent to former administrator Karachi instead of mayor and deputy mayor though the former administrator left the office on August 30th this year and reported to S&GD GoS. The departments under the control of DMD were Fire Brigade, City Warden Department, Security Department, 1339 Complaint Cell, Ambulance Service 1122 KMC

Pakistan: Rescue 1122 Launches Capacity Building Programme


Lahore: Upon the directions of Emergency Services Academy (Rescue 1122) Director General Amir Hamza, the 2nd phase of capacity building programme for Instructors has been launched at Emergency Services Academy to win over International Accreditation with International Search & Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG) and to enhance instructional, leadership and disaster management skills to meet the future challenges of disasters, including climate change, population explosion, rapid urbanisation, earthquakes, floods and structure collapses.

Pakistan: Rescue 1122 Office Opens in Hasilpur


Bahawlpur: “The provincial government wants to improve accessibility to essential services. A Rescue 1122 office in Hasilpur will help residents of rural areas during emergencies,” Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada said on Saturday. He was addressing the inauguration ceremony of a Rescue 1122 emergency centre in Hasilpur. “This office is a practical example of the government’s commitment to improve living conditions of the residents of rural Punjab.”
