Pakistan: DG Punjab 1122 Visits Various Districts to Assess Operations - to enhance capacity of Rescue Service


Lahore: On Tuesday(December 15) the Director General, Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122), Brig. (r) Dr Arshad Zia has visited various districts for assessment of operational capacity of the Service, human resource and emergency equipment in order to enhance operational capacity of the districts of North Punjab.\r\nIn first phase, DG Rescue Punjab had visited different districts of South Punjab and inspected various functions of the Service.

Pakistan: Motorway Police Prepares Road Safety Syllabus , First Aid Training to Patrol officers


Islamabad: An official of NH&MP told Thursday (January 07) that first aid training to patrol officers was being given who were the first responders on accident scene so that they can give emergency first aid to the injured.\r\nBesides, he said that Ambulance Service had been launched and 9 ambulances had been provided to Motorways and Islamabad-Murree Dual Carriageway and 14 dispensaries were being established at 14 sector offices.

Pakistan: In Case of Emergency: Disaster Management Unit Launched in Charsadda


Peshawar: After 5 years of floods that eventually wreaked havoc in 2010 in Pakistan, the first-ever district disaster management unit (DDMU) started operating in Charsadda.\r\nThe unit has been provided with basic equipment like boats, life-saving jackets and other effective information-monitoring system. Pakistan: Rescue 1122 to Induct New Dedicated USAR Units


Rawalpindi: Rescue 1122 has started inductions for its Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) units at the divisional level.\r\nRescue 1122 Director General Brig (r) Dr Arshad Zia said that the move has come on the directives issued by the Punjab chief minister who want dedicated USAR teams to enhance the operational capacity of the emergency service.He said that the induction process for recruiting USAR teams consisting of 50 members for Lahore and Rawalpindi divisions has been started after giving recruitment advertisement in newspapers in this regard.

Pakistan: Govt to Upgrade Trauma Services at DHQ Hospitals


Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department is upgrading trauma services at the district headquarters hospitals in the province to give proper care to the victims of terrorism at the local level.\r\n“During the coming six months the government will work on the up gradation of health care services at the district headquarters hospitals,” secretary health Jamal Yousaf told Dawn. The government has started a massive exercise to procure equipment and medicines and scale up infrastructure to improve trauma services to provide medical care to the critically-injured people at the DHQ hospitals.
