Pakistan: Sindh Health Expenditure Up by 20%: Ambulance Service with Ventilator will be Established


Karachi: The current budget for health was increased by 20 percent with an amount of Rs56.6 billion allocated for it, out of which Rs43.6 billion are for current expenditure and Rs13.2 billion earmarked for development. It was said that an ambulance service equipped with ventilators will be established in all districts of Sindh at cost of Rs1.5 billion. Currently no state-run ambulance service is operational in Sindh.A new out-patient complex will be built at the civil hospital at a cost of Rs6.2 billion and a 400-bed hospital will be built at NIPA Chowrangi at a cost of Rs1.7 billion.

Pakistan: Caution! Landmine ahead!


The Peace Education and Development Foundation (PEAD) in collaboration with UNESCO organised a one-day awareness workshop on June 16, for teachers in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) to raise awareness amongst their students to adopt safety measures to avoid landmines and unexploded ordnances (UOs) in the region. A total of 35 master trainers from Peshawar, Jalozai Camp and lower Kurram Agency participated in the training session in Peshawar.

Pakistan: China to Support PRCS in Rescue and Emergency Ambulance Service


Islamabad: The Red Cross Society of China will support the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) in rescue and emergency ambulance services. The two societies formalised a commitment to this effect by signing an MoU for future cooperation here on June 19. The signing ceremony was held at the PRCS National Headquarters, which was visited by a high-level delegation of the China Red Cross under the leadership of the society’s vice president in Beijing Branch, Liu Na. Pakistan: Red Alert in Pindi Hospitals


The allied hospitals in town received special directives from the provincial health department on June 21 afternoon. Immediately after receiving directives, administrations of the allied hospitals cancelled holidays of all the staff putting hospitals on red alert. Pakistan: Flood Protection Plan to be Implemented from July 1


Rawalpindi: Rescue Services have prepared a flood protection plan which would be enforced after July 01. Director General Punjab emergency Services, Rescue 1122 DrRizwan Naseer said a flood protection plan has been prepared to deal with possible flooding during the upcoming monsoon season.
