Pakistan: Ministry Orders Snakebite Vaccine on Emergency Basis


Islamabad: The ministry of national health services, regulations and co-ordination on July 25 Thursday announced to expedite production of anti-snake vaccine and pledged to supply the same to the country’s hospitals by September this year. According to a spokesman of the ministry, the decision was taken in response to a news item published in The News on July 24 Wednesday, which stated that NIH is supplying ineffective non-registered anti-snake vaccine threatening the lives of thousands of snakebite victims. Pakistan: Rescuers Alerted on the Occasion of Youm-e-Shahadat of Hazrat Ali


Lahore: Punjab Emergency Service, Rescue 1122, Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer has directed all the district emergency officers (DEOs) to ensure appropriate cover on the occasion of Youm-e-Shahadat of Hazrat Ali (RA) in a meeting at Rescue 1122 Headquarters.  The Rescue 1122 DG was briefed that the service had devised a comprehensive contingency strategy to provide efficient pre-hospital emergency medical cover to the processions’ participants. Pakistan: KPK Gov. Approves 10-Storey Emergency Center, Helicopter for Patients


Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government has decided to establish a 10-storey emergency center and purchase special helicopter to provide relief to the masses in case of any natural disaster.KPK government has made a significant move in natural disaster management by initiating work on construction of modern style 10-storey emergency center and purchasing rescue helicopter for rapid action force. The finance minister said that modern equipment will be installed in the emergency center and special training will be provided to the special rescue teams for specialising in facilitating the victims of natural disasters.

Pakistan: Turkish Agency Donates Ambulances to Pakistan


Islamabad: Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) provided ambulance support for a handicapped rehabilitation forum in Azad Jammu Kashmir. Some 250 people’s cords were disabled, leading to stroke during the2005 earthquake in Bagh, besides loss of lives and damage of places of residents, where they needed ambulances for hospital services, Anadolud Agency reported quoting a TIKA statement. The ambulances are convenient for emergency cases and ridgeways, in addition to routine patient transportation, which will help for rapid transfer of patients to health centers.

Pakistan: LGH Staff Assigned Special Emergency Duties during Eid


Lahore: The Lahore General Hospital administration has fixed special Eid duties of AMS, DMSs, doctors, nurses and other staff to ensure smooth working and unabated provision of medical facilities to the patients during Eid holidays. The OPD will remain closed and its staff will perform duties at emergency and other wards during these days.
