Oman: Rescue Operations Underway for People Stranded in Wadi Quriyat


Muscat: People trying to cross overflowing Wadi Al Abreen in Quriyat are stranded and the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance (PACDA) personnel are trying to rescue them.\r\n\"They have managed to get out the vehicle. But still they are stranded. We are trying all options to reach out to rescue them,\" PACDA tweeted in its official twitter account around 1:30pm October 29 Wednesday.\r\nOn October 28 Tuesday, PACDA had issued multi lingual advisories to the public to remain safe during the rain and to be cautious while crossing wadis.

Oman: Young Omani Students Undergo First-Aid and Safety Training Course


Muscat: Twenty-five students between the ages of 15 and 17 underwent a first-aid and safety training course conducted by officials from the Public Authority of Civil Defence and Ambulance (PACDA) at the Al Rustaq Training Centre.\r\nAgent Jassim Al Siyabi, along with the help of Sergeant Asim Al Ghafri and Officer Ali Al Yarubi, conducted the training course where the session included first-aid procedures for different types of injuries. They also exhibited the correct way to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) if the need arose in addition to instructions on treating burns and bone fractures.

Oman: Oman Rescue Teams Set-up for Mughsail, Dahariz Beaches


Muscat: Ensuring the safety of visitors to the KhareefSalalah Festival, the Ministry of Tourism (MoT) has tied up with a company specialising in safety operations to prevent untoward events during the festival at Al Mughsail and Dahariz beaches that witness high waves.\r\nThe company, Shatti Al Arab Tourism Company, has appointed a 16-member team of highly trained beach guards to monitor the two beaches which are frequented by Khareef visitors. Oman: Oman Air Rehearses Emergency Response Plan


Muscat: Oman Air held a major emergency response exercise at its headquarters in Muscat, involving senior managers, operational team leaders and an eight-member exercise control team to test the strength of the airline’s emergency response plan.\r\nUpon activation of the exercise, participating managers were instructed to attend Oman Air’s Emergency Response Centre (ERC) and Local Incident Control Centre (LICC) at Zanzibar, where they received information about the simulated emergency.

Oman: Over 30 Doctors, Nursing Staff Attend Workshop on Handling Emergency Cases


Muscat: Samail Hospital organised a workshop for medical and nursing staff on the triage of emergency cases.\r\nMore than 30 doctors and nursing staff participated in the workshop. It was organised to enhance educational and training opportunities for medical and nursing staff working in emergency departments (EDs). The workshop aimed to provide staff with the necessary skills to prioritise patients on the basis of clinical presentation and allocate them to an appropriate area of ED using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) system, it added.
