India: Motorcycle Ambulance Launched in Kandhamal, Odisha


Phulbani: In a bid to provide emergency health services in remote areas, bike ambulance service was introduced in Kandhamal district on 21 April (Saturday). Inaugurating the service, Collector Brunda D said the bike ambulance will cover remote areas and ferry patients to the nearest hospital or health centre. On the occasion, 3 two-wheeler ambulances were dedicated to the people living in remotest and inaccessible parts of the district. In the first phase, the three bike ambulances will provide service to people of Phringia, Daringbadi and Balliguda blocks.

India: Ambulance Project Launched to Substitute Bamboo Stretcher in Manipur


Tamenglong, Manipur: Commanding Officer of 23 Assam Rifles, Tamenglong Chinmaya Verma launched an ambitious ambulance project for the downtrodden citizens of Tousem Sub-division of Tamenglong district on 21 April at Shekinuh Inn, Tamenglong HQs.\r\nThis is a voluntary project initiated by a non-profit voluntary organization called Society for Enhancing Tamenglong (SET) with an understanding with the Tousem Area Students\' Organization (TASO).

India: Mumbai Gets Free 24Ąż7 Bike Ambulance Service to Tackle Medical Emergencies amid Heavy Traffic


In a bid to deal with medical emergencies amid heavy traffic, Mumbai-based Lodha Foundation has introduced a free 24×7 bike ambulance service, equipped with a first-aid kit and oxygen cylinder, in the city.\r\nThe charitable trust launched the free bike ambulance service on 29 April for swift movement through Mumbai’s traffic in case of an emergency.

India: Doctor Team up Start Healthcare Helpline


A team of 20 medicos have launched a pan-state health information helpline to help patients with healthcare services. The state-level call centre called Aahilya Health Helpline, aims at doling out timely advice to patients and a free ambulance facility. The service will be formally launched on 5 May 2018 by deputy director of health services Pune circle Dr Sanjay Deshmukh.

India: Government replaces old 145 Ambulances in Telangana


Hyderabad: The State government launched 145 ambulances on Monday (7 May), replacing an equal number of older ones in the State’s fleet of 316 ambulances.The new ambulances are better equipped, Health Minister C Laxma Reddy said during the flag-off. The new ambulances have a ventilator and basic critical care facilities, crucial in trauma and cardiovascular-related emergencies. The ambulances will be operated by GVK’s EMRI, which provides ambulance services through the 108 call number.
