Indonesia: Drones Changing Disaster Management


Jakarta: The country’s disaster management agencies will be more frequently using unmanned aerial vehicles, commonly known as drones, in preparing for humanitarian aid, as the technology has significantly improved ways to manage responses to disasters.\r\nNational Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) spokesman Sutopo Purwo said on Thursday (October 6) that his agency had benefited from using drones for disaster mitigation.

Indonesia: Airbus Plane ‘burns’ at Bali Airport during Emergency Simulation


An Airbus A-330 series went up in flames at Bali’s Angkasa Pura I Ngurah Rai International Airport on October 18 as part of an emergency preparedness simulation. The exercise simulated a flight from Australia to Denpasar experiencing technical difficulties when landing. The flight, imagined to be carrying 200 passengers crashed and skidded on the runway in the scenario, with 25 casualties and 45 getting injured.\r\nThe simulation reportedly involved over 500 personnel from the Airport Emergency and Airport Security committees, as well as police, Basarnas (Search and Rescue), firefighters, and hospitals around Denpasar.

Indonesia: 57 Hospital Trauma Center Ready to Serve Participants BPJS naker the Natural Accident at Work


Jakarta: A total of 57 hospitals (Hospital) trauma center (TC), 87 clinics / Faskes TC and 7 training centers in Jakarta are ready to serve the participants  BPJS Employment (BP Social Security) injured at work.\r\n\"From January to September 2016 Employment BPJS Jakarta area has been handling cases of work accidents. There were 257 cases with disability of 29 cases per month and 1 case of disability every day in Jakarta,\" said the Head Office of Employment BPJS Jakarta area Endro Sucahyono, in RS Mayapada, Wednesday (October 26).

Indonesia: Train 100 Baznas Forces Disaster Preparation


Surabaya: The disaster that hit East Java often evocative Badan Amil Zakat Nasional (Baznas) East Java Province care and response to disasters.  Baznas Jatim establish Baznas Disaster Response Team (CCT) Java. Jakarta: A new service namely Jakarta Standby 112 Call Center has been launched by Jakarta Governor, Ahok.\r\nService Call Center Jakarta Alert 112 is a program implemented independently by the city government with the help of CSR of PTBCA, T. bk, which includes construction of the system and agent training. Coordinated by BPBD DKI in order to facilitate public complaints service for the Fire, Disaster, Ambulance, Medical, Security Compromise, Accident and Emergency Cases and other inter-agency coordination in the ranks of the city government to be better integrated.
